Henniker Fitness Center

A new security surveillance and key card access system has been installed which allows all members to enter the Henniker Fitness Center any time between 4:30 am and 10:30pm.  The front desk is only staffed during  limited hours, but you are welcome to make use of all of our facilities, except tanning, at any time you’d like and we will be happy to make appointments at your convenience for training, membership sales, tanning, etc.

The new system is designed to give our members great flexibility using the facilities, while providing a clean, safe and comfortable environment for your workouts. Only members will be able to unlock the door to enter the club and security cameras will be covering every corner of the facilities (except, of course, inside the changing rooms and restrooms, although the entrances to those rooms will also be covered).  The security cameras will be monitored remotely and will also be recorded for review, if necessary.  We also have portable panic buttons which members are welcome to wear during their workouts and stationary panic buttons are  located in the restrooms case of an emergency.  Portable telephones are available for emergency calls or to report any problems to us when the Front Desk is not staffed.  We encourage all members to call us it they ever feel uncomfortable, have any questions, if they notice non-members entering the club, or if there is any problem whatsoever at the Henniker Fitness Center. 

Our AED (automated external defibrillator) is located in a well-marked cabinet adjacent to the Front Desk, together with quick instructions for its use.  Copies of the instructions are also available for anyone who would like to review its use before an  emergency arises. The AED machine will also talk you through the entire process In case of an emergency.   Please note that an alarm will sound and lights will flash if the cabinet is open, so please do not tamper with the cabinet or AED unless needed.

It is essential that each member bring his or her membership card and access key tag to the gym on each and every visit to open the doors and record your visit.  Each member is asked to fill out and sign a new membership agreement and pay a deposit of $15 for the key tag.  $10 of that deposit will be refunded when you return the key tag to us.(A replacement fee will also be assessed for replacement tags)  The new agreement will require you to provide us with a credit card so that we can ensure that your membership doesn’t inadvertently lapse.  If you would prefer to continue paying by cash or by check, that’s fine, too.

A few other notes:  Non-members taking exercise classes can purchase an access key tag good only for their class session and time. Babysitting will continue to be offered on Monday & Wednesday mornings from 8:30 to 10:30am.Tanning will be available only during staffed hours or by appointment. Water and Gatorade will be available on an honor system from a frig located outside of the front desk area.Your charts have been placed in a filing cabinet outside of the Front Desk area, or you may take them home with you, if you prefer.
